After several years of employment you can become a Dental Technician or Technologist working in the laboratory. You can go further with larger laboratories and then you can become a Dental Technician Manager or owner. You can, also, work with government facilities such as armed forces, hospitals or getting involved in maxillofacial, which are devices for the whole face.

College of Dental Technicians of British Columbia sets standards for the Dental Technicians. We have to follow those rules and when students graduate from here they are not Registered Dental Technicians as such, but they will get the diploma from CDI College. Once they have reached that diploma status then they can go on and apply for to College of Dental Technicians of British Columbia to write the provincial exams.

I have chosen the Dental Assisting program with CDI College because of the small class size. We have four instructors and just because of the smaller size of the classes we have lots of one-on-one interaction with them. I like it that way. The instructors are very helpful and they always give me feedback on how to improve my skills.
I went to other colleges, but people there were not as helpful as at CDI College. The first time I came here the advisor showed me all around, she told me everything about the program and what would be good for me. Quite frankly I was surprised and impressed at the same time.

We are accredited throughout Canada. Representatives come from Toronto and Ottawa and they carry out accreditation every four years. If you go to an unaccredited school there are so many things you have to do on top. But if you graduate from the CDI College Dental Assisting program, there is only one thing that has left to be done -- to write the National Exam and that is just because we are accredited.

CDI College, in coordination with the UBC Faculty of Dentistry and the Salvation Army, hosted Open Wide Community Clinic Day at the Burnaby campus. Dental assisting students worked alongside dentists from UBC, gaining invaluable practical experience working with real patients.

CDI College Surrey campus celebrated its grand opening on July 17, 2012 with an action-packed day. CDI College Raise More Than $10,000 in Apprentice-Style Fashion
Five teams made up of staff and faculty from CDI College Edmonton battled it out at various locations downtown today in an apprentice-style competition for charity. The winning team, Team Rooftoppers, raised $3,774.32 for Habitat for Humanity throughout the lunch hour and had the time of their lives.
Each team had to sell pizzas donated from Papa Johns using whatever creative strategy they could execute during the one-and-a-half hour competition.
All teams did a fantastic job raising money and profile for their charity of choice.

Based on the success of this year's event, Campus Director Kyle Ferbey hopes to be able to turn this into an annual event and perhaps expand it by involving campuses and students from across the country.

Different types of massage treatments are examined so that students experience a wide variety of possible specialization areas. Medical science topics including pharmacology, anatomy, physiology, and pathology are required courses. In addition, students will learn about industry ethics and professional communications. A mandatory clinic internship at the end of the program allows students to practice their massage therapy under the supervision of a registered massage therapist. Graduates are encouraged to become certified with the Alberta Association of Massage Therapists and Holistic Practitioners, which gives them added benefits as registered massage therapists. CDI College offers career counselling and planning services to students in order to assist with job searching, interviewing, and resume writing.

Clem is a graduate of the Law Enforcement Foundations program (http://youtube.cdicollege.ca) at CDI College. Forced to find a new job late in life, Clem decided to take the plunge and head back to school. The result was exactly what he'd hoped for: a new career in a field he'd always been passionate about.
The staff and instructors at CDI College made Clem's transition back to the classroom easy. He received help with proper study habits, test preparation and general guidance in his day to day school work. Despite being away from school for 25 years, Clem felt comfortable at CDI College, thanks to the small classes and friendly environment.
